چکیده
Salinity is the main environmental factor accountable for decreasing crop productivity worldwide. The effects of NaCl salinity on plant growth (leaf relative water content (RWC), leaf dry weight (LDW), shoot length (SL), number leaves (NL), branches (NB) and total area (TLA) physiological characteristics (stomatal conductance (gs), transpiration rate (TR), net photosynthetic (Pn), yield photosystem II (ΦPsII) intercellular CO2 concentration (CO2int) in peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) varieties (‘Vanda’, ‘P244601’ ‘Pl184948’, widely used Cameroon, Tanzania Ghana, respectively, were investigated under hydroponic condition. Plants subjected to four levels (0, 40, 80 120 mM) at early seedling stage development. Application treatment led a significant decrease LDW, SL, NL, TLA, Pn, gs, TR CO2int ‘Vanda’ compared untreated plants while inhibition was notably noted mM ‘P1184948’ SL NB. highest depressive effect detected gs salt-sensitive lowest recorded salt-tolerant high level. Enhanced concentrations increase ΦPSII ‘Vanda’, plants. Leaf CHL significantly increased moderately-tolerant ‘‘P244601’ salt sensitive RWC all varieties. Under stress observed have relatively higher tolerance average traits than P244601’ suggesting that it could be grown salt-affected soils.

Response of yield and some physiological traits in peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) to Zn and Ca nano chelates and their application methods
Peanut is one of the important legume crops and its grain rich in oil (47-53 %) and protein (25-36 %). Peanut has very high nutrient requirement, Hence, in order to evaluate the effects of Zn and Ca nano-chelates and their application methods on yield and some physiological traits in peanut, a field experiment carried out in 2016 cropping season as split plot arrangement based on randomized com...
متن کاملChanges in auxin patterns in developing gynophores of the peanut plant (Arachis hypogaea L.).
The peanut plant (Arachis hypogaea L.) produces flowers aerially, but buries the recently fertilized ovules in the soil in order for the fruit and seeds to mature underground. The organ that carries the seeds into the soil is called the gynophore. The growth of the peanut gynophore is regulated primarily by indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). A monoclonal antibody raised against IAA was used to success...
متن کاملStress Inducible Overexpression of AtHDG11 Leads to Improved Drought and Salt Stress Tolerance in Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.)
Peanut is an important oilseed and food legume cultivated as a rain-fed crop in semi-arid tropics. Drought and high salinity are the major abiotic stresses limiting the peanut productivity in this region. Development of drought and salt tolerant peanut varieties with improved yield potential using biotechnological approach is highly desirable to improve the peanut productivity in marginal geogr...
متن کاملPeanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) Omics and Biotechnology in China
Peanut is one of the most important crops in the world, both for vegetative oil and as a protein source. Biotechnology approaches provide promising ways to increase peanut productivity, either through improved seed quality or stress resistance. These approaches require the identification of genes that control important agronomical traits, the understanding of gene regulation and metabolic pathw...
متن کاملTranscriptome profiling of peanut (Arachis hypogaea) gynophores in gravitropic response
Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) produces flowers aerially, but the fruit develops underground. This process is mediated by the gynophore, which always grows vertically downwards. The genetic basis underlying gravitropic bending of gynophores is not well understood. To identify genes related to gynophore gravitropism, gene expression profiles of gynophores cultured in vitro with tip pointing upward ...
